The Community Foundation will say ‘goodbye’ to three board members at the end of 2023, at least for a year or two. Mike Wendling, Janal Mossett and Don Fletcher are all at the end of their current term limits. Although they will be leaving the board, they will all remain active with the Foundation.
“We’re firm believers in term limits for board members,” said Hale Walker, the current Board Chair. “So we have mandatory term limits after 9 years of consecutive service, but we’re also fortunate to know that all three of these board members will stay active and involved with the Foundation.”
Mike Wendling first joined the Foundation board in 2015 and remains active as Chair of the Governance Committee. He is also a founding member of the Community Capital Club. When he’s not at his day job he’s active with his kids, volunteering for other local nonprofits and growing Christmas trees.
Janal Mossett also joined the Foundation board in 2015. She will remain active on the Foundation’s main Grants Committee as well as its Governance Committee. Janal is a well-known local attorney and when she isn’t working she is most likely to be found in a hockey arena somewhere or on a softball field, watching her kids.
Don Fletcher has been one of the longest serving Board members in the Foundation’s history, having first joined the Board in 1999. He was Board Chair in 2011 and 2012 and was honored with the Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. He remains active in numerous local organizations and projects, including Blue Meets Green and Thumbcoast TV.
