The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is excited to announce that the scholarship application for 2026 is now open! Students can apply online at www.stclairfoundation.org/scholarships between December 1st and March 16th.
“We have scholarships for all types of students in St. Clair County,” said Jessica Flann, Program Officer for Post Secondary Success. “We welcome graduating high school seniors, current college students, adult learners returning to school, and those pursuing trade or certification programs to complete the application.”
The Foundation offers nearly 40 scholarships with a wide range of eligibility criteria. “A lot of students think they need to be a top scholar to qualify for a scholarship,” Flann added. “While we do have a few awards for high-achieving students, many of our scholarships are designed for the everyday student who may be balancing school, work, and family responsibilities. Regardless of GPA or test scores, if you’re planning to continue your education, we encourage you to apply!”

The Alice W. Moore Memorial Scholarship, for example, supports graduates of St. Clair High School who want to advance their skills through vocational training. “We’ve been able to help students earn their cosmetology license, complete the police academy, and earn their CDL,” Flann shared. “It’s rewarding to see how these scholarships help open doors to meaningful careers.”
In recent years, the Community Foundation has refined its scholarship strategy to focus on long-term student success, providing renewable awards and ongoing support for high-need students through graduation. This deeper investment helps students overcome financial and personal barriers, aligning with the Foundation’s mission to advance educational equity across St. Clair County.
In 2025, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 163 students, including 71 renewals, and celebrated 13 graduates who earned degrees or certifications. “It’s an honor to follow students throughout their educational journeys and see the impact these scholarships have in their lives,” said Flann.
