Where the river flows, let art grow…

The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is now accepting proposals for a new piece of public art to enhance the Blue Water River Walk in Port Huron, MI. This project is made possible through the generous support of the Port Huron Rotary Club.
Once an industrial train yard, the one-mile shoreline has been beautifully transformed into a vibrant natural space. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Blue Water River Walk is now a thriving habitat for local wildlife and a favorite spot for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy.
The Vision
We want a piece that lives where the land meets the river. That reflects:
- Nature: Birds, fish, trees, water, seasons
- Transformation: From industrial to wild, from forgotten to celebrated
- Community: Shared space, local pride, unity
Think Stella the Sturgeon or Sugar the Horse – bold, beloved, and built to last. The sculpture should be similar size to existing pieces. Materials should contribute to the area’s natural and rustic aesthetic.
