In a significant enhancement to its visitor experience, Port Huron Museums is thrilled to announce the acquisition of an upgraded trolley, made possible through the generous support of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County.

The trolley made its grand debut at the Rotary Parade on July 9th for the opening of Boat Week. Come see its big reveal!
The newly acquired trolley comes from Pigeon Forge, TN and boasts improved amenities, including more seating, ADA accessibility, and climate control, featuring a total of 36 seats—an upgrade from the museum’s previous 16-seater trolley. The upgraded trolley will be available for rentals and private tours offered through the museum’s programs.
The Port Huron Museums expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Community Foundation of St. Clair County for their ongoing support.
“Although we regularly provide grant funding to the Port Huron Museums, sometimes a project comes along that requires more financial support than we can provide with grant funding. In such cases, we do have a Nonprofit Loan Pool fund that we can dip into on occasion to make loans to local nonprofits.” says Randy Maiers, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County.
This Nonprofit Loan Pool Fund was established through a gift from the James C. Acheson Foundation in 2024, starting with an initial amount of $250,000. The Community Foundation has also extended loans to other local non-profits, including the Emmett Baseball Little League and the Algonac Clay Historical Society.
The Port Huron Museums is excited to put the newly acquired trolley to use, enhancing the experience for visitors and the community alike.
Creative funding like the Community Foundation’s Loan Pool makes upgrades like this possible. Support future community projects at StClairFoundation.org and plan your visit at PHMuseums.org.
