The endowment fund began in 2011 with a generous donation from a community family. Rather than spending the funds on immediate goals an endowment was established, allowing the one-time donation to grow and have a positive impact on Port Huron Area School District students far into the future.

Two annual fundraisers were established: Ks for Kids Fun Run and crosstown Showdown. Together, with additional contributions from Port Huron School supporters and effective financial management by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, the fund has grown to more than $400,000.

The PHS Endowment Fund has granted over $200,000 to various programs at every level of learning, improving the educational experience for hundreds of PHASD students.
