The Bob Abdoo Memorial Fund was created in 2005. Bob grew up in Port Huron, graduating from St. Stephens’ High School. He attended the University of Dayton and after college returned to his home town to pursue a career with Michigan National Bank. The Bob Abdoo Memorial Fund was established by family and friends to honor his memory, the impact he had on their lives and in the community he loved.
Bob was the glue that bonded everyone together. From organizing a morning coffee to a major event, Bob knew how to get things done. He reached out to everyone whether they were a friend, casual acquaintance or total stranger. Through the fund, donors will be able to continue to promote Bob’s generosity and community involvement. Bob loved sports and his Fund will focus on assisting athletic endeavors in St. Clair County and rewarding students who strive for excellence in their academic or athletic pursuits. Donations were made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church to purchase protective padding for their gymnasium and to Port Huron Northern’s Reward Program for special education students who make the honor roll during the Fund’s first year.
