The Community Foundation of St. Clair County has begun its new year by adding several new community members to its various committees. The Foundation engages more than a hundred community members on its various boards and subcommittees, whose work in philanthropy touches every corner of St. Clair County.
“We don’t often have many openings each year,” said Randy Maiers, the Foundation President and CEO. “So it’s important that we pick people that have a true passion for giving back and improving prosperity for our region.”
Among the new faces in the Foundation family this year;
- The Foundation’s Main Grants Committee will add: Tom Watkins, Mukund Wankhede, Kathy Hayman, Carrie Harris, and Don Fletcher
- The Finance & Investment Committee adds Iggy Villalobos, Brian Moran, and Janal Mossett
- The Blue Water Arts Committee will add Bonnie Barrett, Chuck Kelly and Steve Disser, and Jody Parmann will step up to be the Chair of this committee
The Foundation also announced that several committee chairs have returned in 2025, including;
- Lindsey Adams-Fitchett as Chair of the Main Grants Committee
- Jazmyn Thomas as Chair of the Equity & Inclusion Committee
- Jim Charron as Chair of the Finance Committee
- Therese Damman as Chair of the Women’s Initiative
- Joshua Kriesch is the Chair of the Youth Advisory Council
“Our various grantmaking committees work almost year-round to provide funding to worthwhile programs, projects and organizations,” said Maiers. The Community Foundation is a very decentralized organization with most grants being made by subcommittees of the board along with a wide range of advisors to donor advised funds and field of interest funds.
“Last year was an incredibly busy and exciting year for our donors and hundreds of endowed funds, and we expect more of the same in 2025,” Maiers said. “Without dedicated and hardworking volunteers like these, the Foundation’s work and impact would not be possible.”
