The Community Foundation will welcome back two familiar faces to its board of directors, along with one new face, when the new year begins.
Randa Jundi-Samman
Randa is returning to the Foundation board for another three-year term. Randa first joined the board in 2012, and was its board chair in 2020 and 2021. Randa is beginning her 30th year as a dentist at Huron Dental. During her time on the board she experienced first-hand the evolving demands of philanthropy as the Foundation had to pivot and adapt its grantmaking during the early days of Covid.
She is a long-time member of the Foundation’s Women’s Initiative and former chair of that committee. She’s also proud to be coming back to the board in 2024 which will be the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the Blue Water River Walk. “That’s one of our most enduring gifts back to the community,” she said. “And after 10 years it still makes me so proud.”
Sushma Reddy
Sushma returns to the board after a three- year break. She had previously served on the board from 2012 to 2020 and over the years has been active on the Education Task Force, Grants Committee and Governance Committee.
Although she’s now retired, she continues to pursue her passions and medical career around the areas of children’s health and diabetes, especially in underserved segments of the community. “I’m excited to return to the Community Foundation,” she said. “The breadth and depth of our funding and partnerships truly makes a difference.”’ When she’s not volunteering or consulting you may find her riding her bike or on her paddleboard.
Lindsey Adams Fitchett
Lindsey was elected for her first term on the board, although she has several years of experience on the Foundation’s main Grants Committee as well as the Women’s Initiative, for which she has served as its chair for the last two years. When she looks back at her time with the Women’s Initiative, volunteering for the backpack giveaway will always be a favorite.
Lindsey is a partner with Randa at Huron Dental in Port Huron. “I’m looking forward to serving alongside fellow established trustees and the open dialogue on community issues the board addresses,” she said. As a first-generation college student who went on to earn her doctorate, Lindsey will bring a valuable perspective to the board’s work with student success in our scholarship programs.
The Foundation’s full rosters of all of its many committees can be found here and will be updated in early 2024 to reflect other roster changes and additions.
