Yale Public Schools and the Community Foundation of St. Clair County are proud to announce the launch of the Yale Education Foundation, a new charitable fund dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for students in Yale.
“A generous anonymous gift of $25,000 gives us an exciting opportunity to invest in our students and their futures,” said Kurt Sutton, Superintendent of Yale Public Schools. “It’s a meaningful investment into our school community.”
The Yale Education Foundation is designed to support a wide range of educational needs- from classroom grants and extracurricular activities to updated technology and teacher support. Every dollar donated stays in Yale and is used exclusively to benefit students in the district. This is more than a fund – it’s a chance for alumni, families, and community members to give back and directly impact the next generation growing up right in Yale.
The fund will be overseen by a committee of local educators and community members, ensuring that decision-making stays close to the people who know the schools best. At the same time, the Community Foundation will provide professional financial oversight and investment management to ensure long-term growth and transparency.
“We’re grateful to have the Foundation’s partnership,” said Sutton. “Their expertise helps us manage these funds responsibly and opens doors for legacy gifts and long-term sustainability.”

As the fund grows, it will provide a stable and lasting source of support for Yale Public Schools. Contributions are tax-deductible, and the Foundation’s stewardship offers donors peace of mind that their gifts will make a lasting difference.
The Yale Education Foundation joins a network of other school-focused funds at the Community Foundation, including the Algonac Community Schools Fund, Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund, and several others. It also complements existing support for Yale High School through the Kent George Dupont Family Heritage Fund, as well as local grants for the food pantry and parks and trails initiatives through the city.
Whether you’re a proud Yale alum, a parent, or a neighbor who wants to give back, this fund is your chance to support Yale schools that help shape our community.
