This fund was established in 1997. It was initially established to support Catholic Social Services. After March 2002 the fund began supporting all general charitable purposes as determined by the Trustees of the Foundation.
Virginia Farmer, originally from Chicago, was a business executive in the Port Huron area for about 20 years. Miss Farmer served as a Director of Michigan National Bank, as a Trustee and secretary of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, as a Board member and chairman of the Catholic Service, and as a Board member of Goodwill Industries. Miss Farmer was also an active member of Quota International, the League of Catholic Women, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church along with being an honorary member of Gamma Nu.
Miss Farmer passed away on August 10, 1996.
