Bob Kempf

Robert Carl “Bob” Kempf was a dear friend of the Community Foundation and a lifelong champion of service to others. His commitment to Veterans and Rotary shaped much of his life’s work and left a lasting impact on the St. Clair County community.
A proud Vietnam War veteran and Bronze Star recipient, Bob was deeply committed to supporting those who served. He was a Past President of the Port Huron Rotary Club, a founding member and Past President of the Port Huron Rotary Club Charitable Foundation, and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Bob was also an active member of the Port Huron First United Methodist Church.
Giving back was simply part of who Bob was. He volunteered with the March of Dimes in Port Huron for more than 50 years and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the years, he was also involved with the Michigan Municipal Finance Officers Association, Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled Veterans of America, the American Legion, the St. Clair County Community College Accounting Advisory Board, and Elk’s Lodge #343 in Port Huron.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Laura “Laurabelle” Kempf; and his grandchildren, Logan and Celeste, who were the joy of his life. Family, friends, and community meant everything to Bob.
We are grateful for Bob’s friendship, leadership, and steady support over the years. His kindness and commitment to service will be remembered and felt for a long time to come.
Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Clair County Veterans Fund, honoring Bob’s lifelong dedication to Veterans.
