Linda LaLonde

We are saddened to share the passing of our friend Linda LaLonde, age 76, of Marysville, who passed away on March 7, 2026. Born in Detroit to the late John and Martha Ondrus, Linda lived a life defined by compassion, service, and a deep love for her community.
A dedicated nurse and longtime director of The Peoples Clinic, Linda spent many years caring for others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her. Outside of her work, she was known for her enthusiasm as a loyal Detroit Red Wings fan.
Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Ondrus.

Denny Nicholson

We’re saddened to learn about the passing of Dennis “Denny” Edward Nicholson, 76, who passed away on February 11, 2026. A lifelong Port Huron resident, Denny graduated from Port Huron Northern High School and Michigan State University, where he was an Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity brother. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Storbeck, in 1971, and together they built a life rooted in family, hard work, and community.
Denny was a third-generation owner of Port Huron Welding Supply Inc., founder of Fire Safe Inc., and a longtime volunteer firefighter with the Clyde Township Fire Department. He was instrumental in forming the St. Clair County Special Response Team and was known for his generosity, work ethic, and willingness to help others. His greatest joy was his family—supporting his children’s activities and later cherishing time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Mary; son Corey (Lindsay) Nicholson and their children Ava and Madelyn; daughter Emily (Josh) Walter; and extended family.

Judy Green

We are saddened by the loss of Judith Ann (McIntyre) Green, who passed away on November 15, 2025, after a long and heroic battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Green.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Green and Sara Green Johns (Brandon), and her cherished granddaughters, Lily Johns and Alice Johns.
Judy was an independent woman who raised her two daughters on her own after the loss of her husband and returned to school to study education at M.S.U. She went on to serve as an elementary and middle school teacher with the East China School District. A lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and travel, Judy was known for her sharp mind and strong commitment to her family

Terry London

We’re saddened to learn about the passing of Terrance “Terry” London, who passed away on February 9, 2026. Terry was a proud graduate of Port Huron High School and St. Clair County Community College and honorably served four years in the U.S. Navy. He married Gertrude “Ann” Jokie in 1980.
Terry dedicated much of his life to public service, including terms in the Michigan House of Representatives and on the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners. He also worked as a farmer, a customer service representative with Detroit Edison for 35 years, and owned London’s Deli. He was deeply involved in his community through organizations such as the March of Dimes, Clyde Township baseball, Port Huron Area Jaycees, and the Marysville Morning Optimist Club, and was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church.
Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann; children, Jeffrey (Francine) London and Lisa (Kirk Hardy) London; grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Kramp; step-children, Sheri (Wally) Bakko, Shelly (Scott) Dickinson and Sean (Donna) Jokie; step grandchildren, Shereena, Skylar, Sable, Nolan and Cameron; sister, Constance “Connie” Johnston; and several nieces and nephews. his children, Jeffrey (Francine) London and Lisa (Kirk Hardy) London; grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Kramp; step-children Sheri (Wally) Bakko, Shelly (Scott) Dickinson, and Sean (Donna) Jokie; and step-grandchildren Shereena, Skylar, Sable, Nolan, and Cameron. Marilyn Meredith

We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, Marilyn Joyce Meredith, who passed away on January 3, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Meredith, and is remembered for the life and family they built together.
Marilyn was a teacher, business owner, and community leader. She founded Meredith Tax Service and Much & More Income Tax Workshops and continued teaching through December 2025. She was active in her church and many community organizations, always ready to share her knowledge and help others. Marilyn loved traveling, exploring new places, and making memories with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Robin), Devin (Tammy), Erlinda, and Renee (Shane) Hernandez; her five grandchildren; extended family; and many friends and students whose lives she touched. lives she touched.

Bob Kempf

Robert Carl “Bob” Kempf was a dear friend of the Community Foundation and a lifelong champion of service to others. His commitment to Veterans and Rotary shaped much of his life’s work and left a lasting impact on the St. Clair County community.
A proud Vietnam War veteran and Bronze Star recipient, Bob was deeply committed to supporting those who served. He was a Past President of the Port Huron Rotary Club, a founding member and Past President of the Port Huron Rotary Club Charitable Foundation, and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Bob was also an active member of the Port Huron First United Methodist Church.
Giving back was simply part of who Bob was. He volunteered with the March of Dimes in Port Huron for more than 50 years and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the years, he was also involved with the Michigan Municipal Finance Officers Association, Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled Veterans of America, the American Legion, the St. Clair County Community College Accounting Advisory Board, and Elk’s Lodge #343 in Port Huron.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Laura “Laurabelle” Kempf; and his grandchildren, Logan and Celeste, who were the joy of his life. Family, friends, and community meant everything to Bob.
We are grateful for Bob’s friendship, leadership, and steady support over the years. His kindness and commitment to service will be remembered and felt for a long time to come.

Helen Jane Kennedy
We are saddened to learn about the passing of Helen Jane Kennedy (née Cook) of Marine City, MI, and formerly of Dayton, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kennedy, her lifelong love, whom she married on Valentine’s Day in 1952.
Helen is survived by her eight children and their spouses: Kristine & Frank Short, Peter & Karen Kennedy, Jeffrey & Susan Kennedy, Mary & Kevin Heintz, Anne & Jeffrey O’Connor, Lisa & Brian Mastay, Kathleen & Scott Powers, and Michael & Peg Kennedy; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She loved the St. Clair River—fishing, boating, and watching freighters—and treasured traveling to visit her family, especially her memorable trip to Ireland with Robert.
